In the United States, lobbying is a legalized multi billion dollar industry. Groups representing Big Oil or Wall Street spend heavily to ensure that legislation, the very rules of society, favors their profit margins.

Social media platforms are not designed to inform you. They are designed to retain you. Their algorithms are the digital stage managers, choosing which voices get the spotlight and which are silenced based on what generates the most profit and engagement.

 👉 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚: The Power Loop survives because big capital funds big media. Support independent journalists and creators who do not rely on corporate conglomerates or political bonds for their survival.

The Power Loop is efficient because it is invisible. When business interests control the platforms and political interests control the narrative, the freedom of choice becomes an illusion.

We are not just consumers of this cycle; we are the fuel for it. The only way to break the loop is through critical literacy, which is the ability to look at a screen and ask who paid for this and what they want me to believe.

Every year, as the sun sets on 31st December, we start looking at our watches, checking our countdowns, and preparing for a "New Year" that hasn't even begun. We call this date "New Year’s Eve," but that is a linguistic rush to the exit—a premature leap into a future that hasn't arrived.

In reality, 31st December is the Present Year’s Eve.

It wasn't a trip; it was a pure, gut-wrenching fight for survival against the vast, unforgiving Atlantic. Every hour that passed was a testament to their incredible sheer determination and hope.

When the tanker finally pulled into the port of Las Palmas, the Spanish coast guards were the ones who spotted them. Thin, severely dehydrated, and suffering from hypothermia, but, miraculously, alive.

Rescuers said their survival was nothing short of extraordinary. And you know what? They're right. It’s a quiet, powerful testament to the human spirit. It shows you the unimaginable lengths people will go to when they're chasing the smallest chance of a better life.

We can't just look at this as an extreme adventure story; we have to look at the why. What kind of desperation drives someone to put their life on the line like this?

Narak Chaudas: Beyond the Myth, What Narakasura Really Teaches Us

 

Narak Chaudas (or Narak Chaturdashi) is a significant festival celebrated a day before Diwali, also known as Chhoti Diwali. It commemorates the triumph of good over evil and is a day for purification.

The Story (Mythological Explanation)

The most popular legend behind Narak Chaturdashi centers on the demon king Narakasura.

Narakasura, through divine boons, became a powerful and cruel tyrant. He conquered the heavens and earth, imprisoned 16,000 princesses, and stole the sacred earrings of Aditi, the mother of the gods. Distressed, the gods and sages sought the help of Lord Krishna.

Lord Krishna, along with his consort Satyabhama (an incarnation of Bhudevi, the Earth Goddess and Narakasura's mother), confronted the demon. A fierce battle ensued. As per a boon, Narakasura could only be killed by his mother. Taking this into account, Krishna's strategy led to Satyabhama delivering the fatal blow.

Before his death, the vanquished Narakasura was filled with remorse and requested a boon from his mother: that his death should not be a day of mourning, but of joyful celebration. Lord Krishna granted this, and thus, the day of his demise is celebrated with lights and joy, symbolizing the end of tyranny and the restoration of peace.

The Logical Explanation (Symbolic Significance)

While the story is a mythological narrative, its true power lies in its deep symbolism, which offers a logical guide for human conduct:

Narakasura represents the "Inner Demon": The name Naraka means 'hell' or 'darkness.' Narakasura is a metaphor for the negative forces within every human: ego, greed, ignorance (tamas), and negativity. His kingdom is the state of mind ruled by these vices.

Krishna's Victory is the "Rise of Consciousness": Lord Krishna represents Consciousness, Wisdom, and Dharma (righteousness). His victory is the symbolic act of a person conquering their own inner darkness and ego.

The Lighting of Lamps: The tradition of lighting numerous diyas (lamps) on this day is a literal and symbolic act. It represents the illumination of self-knowledge (light) that dispels the darkness of ignorance (Narakasura).

Ritual Bath (Abhyanga Snan): The tradition of taking an oil bath before sunrise is a purification ritual. It's not just about cleaning the body but symbolically washing away the "sins" or negativity accumulated throughout the year, preparing the individual (and the home) to welcome the greater light and prosperity of Diwali.

Narak Chaturdashi is a reminder that the greatest battle is the one fought within. It mandates an internal cleansing—purging the heart of all negativity, just as Krishna purged the world of Narakasura—to prepare for the true light of wisdom and prosperity on Diwali.

The Monkey and the Fish

 

A monkey saw a fish in the river that looked like it was struggling.

The monkey thought, "Oh no! It must be drowning! I have to save it!"

So, he pulled the fish out of the water and placed it on the dry land.

The fish immediately began to gasp and flop, and then it lay still.

The monkey clapped his hands, feeling proud and happy that he had helped the fish.

An old tortoise nearby said, "Your heart was good, but you made a mistake. You thought you saved the fish, but you actually killed it. The fish needed the water to live."

The monkey's heart sank.

The tortoise finished by saying, "True help isn't what makes you feel good; it's what the other person truly needs."

Simple Lesson

A good heart is not enough. Good intentions without knowing what to do can cause more harm than being hateful.

Time Travel Politics: The Art of Escaping Accountability

In today’s India, we seem to have invented a new political formula: whenever someone asks a tough question, the government doesn’t answer in the present. Instead, a time machine is switched on, and we are transported straight into the past.  

Ask about the farmers protest, the Eduquity scam, the wrestlers protest, the Voters Id issue or the collapsing state of social security. Raise the issue of  banking scams or corruption, and you’ll get the same recycled reply:  

"Congress ne yeh kiya tha… Indira ke zamane mein aisa hua tha." and how can we keep the most favorite out of the conversation "The Nehru Ji". 

It’s almost like accountability has been outsourced to history.  

                                    

Think about it. Imagine India loses the World Cup, and Rohit Sharma is asked: “Why did we lose today?” And Rohit calmly replies: “Arre, Ganguly ke time bhi toh India haara tha.” 🤣 Would that be an explanation or just an excuse? Unfortunately, that’s exactly the standard of reasoning we get in politics today.  

Growth or Illusion?  

Yes, there is growth. But let’s be honest: economies grow organically over time. If another party were in power, there would still be growth of some kind. The real question isn’t about whether GDP graphs are moving up or down. The real question is: what kind of treatment are ordinary people getting? Is life becoming easier, fairer, more dignified? Or are people told to be satisfied with statistics while struggling in reality?  

The Masterstroke Distraction  

But here’s where the real political genius comes in—the distraction playbook.  

- Ask about unemployment, and suddenly the debate shifts to Hindu vs Muslim.  

- Talk about inflation, and immediately there’s a new campaign on Temple vs Mosque.  

- Question corruption, and overnight you’ll see breaking news about Pakistan or a debate over renaming a city.  

Religion has become the favorite toy to keep people permanently busy. Hate is sold in easy installments, packaged as patriotism, and consumed daily on primetime television. News channels don’t look like news anymore; they resemble a reality show called “Bigg Boss: Hindu vs Muslim Edition.”  

The Strategy of Anger  

Why this obsession with religious divides? Simple. When people are kept angry, they stop thinking logically. Anger takes over where reason should be. It’s easier to make a crowd chant slogans than to make them ask about jobs, healthcare, or education.  

So instead of answering, “Where are the jobs?” the reply becomes:  

"Look at that Aurangzeb Grave!"

Instead of addressing, “Why are prices so high?” the focus shifts to:  

"What’s your religion, what’s your identity?"  

The Punchline  

What we’re left with is a country where leaders promise to rectify history, while ordinary citizens just wish someone would rectify electricity bills, unemployment, and scams.  

Because at the end of the day, history lessons don’t pay the rent. Hate-filled headlines don’t bring food to the table. And time travel may be fun in movies, but in real life, it’s the worst excuse for not fixing the present.

But nature has its own ways of restoring balance. If we keep destroying ecosystems, nature may one day rebalance itself—not by saving us, but by removing us. The extinction of humanity may simply become a part of Earth’s healing process.

This is why Krishna Janmashtami is not just a religious festival but a philosophical reminder. It teaches us that:

Karma is essential—life is about right action, not attachment.

Human ego is insignificant—we are small in the cosmic scale.
